Class Descriptions  
Eastpointe Health and Fitness offers a wide variety of group exercise classes. Most classes are for all levels of experience and ability; however we also have classes specifically for beginners.

 
Ashtanga Yoga
  Involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures, each movement is accompanied by one breath. This style of yoga produces an intense internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. This result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.
 
Body Sculpt
  A low-impact class that is intensive but easy to follow. Utilizes dyna-band resistance bands, stability balls and free weights to tone & sculpt. Focus is in muscular endurance and strength. All levels welcome.
 
Cardio - Body Sculpt
  A comfortably paced class of low impact aerobic dance and other basic cardio moves, followed by some limited resistance training/conditioning of a variety of muscle groups.
 
Core Balance
  A low-impact class utilizing inflated stability balls & dyna-band resistance bands. Builds strength, flexibility and increases balance.
 
Dance
  A fun and upbeat way to get your cardio! Taught by certified dance instructors, this class combines low-impact dance moves from a combination of several forms including Jazz, Hip-Hop/Funk, and Latin.
 
Kickboxing
  The principals of martial arts in a fun, high-energy setting. No training or experience in martial arts is required.
 
Legs & Abs
  This sculpting class focuses on the areas that you really need it! Strengthen, shape and tone your legs and core muscles. A great compliment to any cardio workout.
 
Pilates
  This class emphasizes abdominal strength and improves posture. Exercises focus on lengthening muscles and improving flexibility.
 
Spin
  A high-energy cardiovascular workout on specially designed stationary bikes. Enjoy great music and cycle along with the pack on a simulated course. The spinning program is for everyone at any age and at every level of fitness.
 
Step & Sculpt
  A combination cardiovascular/body-sculpting program that uses a height-adjustable step. It provides a high-energy cardio workout and muscular training to shape and tone the entire lower body while pushing calorie-burning systems into high gear.
 
Yoga-Fusion
  A series of yoga positions designed to balance the body, mind and spirit, while incorporating Pilate's mat-based exercises to strengthen and stretch the core muscles.
 
Yoga for Beginners
  The perfect class for learning about yoga. You'll slowly ease into various yoga positions to enhance your flexibility and release stress.
